Meta is introducing an exciting new feature for Threads users to stay updated on trending conversations. Mark Zuckerberg announced that the app is currently testing “today’s top topics” in the United States.
This feature will showcase relevant and popular discussions, appearing in search results and interspersed throughout the For You feed. Meta’s AI systems will determine these trends based on real-time engagement on Threads, as explained by Instagram head Adam Mosseri.
Notably, Threads will also highlight trends related to politics and elections, despite Meta’s recent decision to limit political content recommendations. However, this trending feature will not be subject to the same restrictions, allowing political topics to be included.
