Discover the Hidden Vaults in Fortnite: A Guide to Finding and Unlocking Them

Nestled deep in Fortnite’s new Wilds biome are Secret Vaults: sealed chambers containing treasure troves of loot and equipment for players clever enough to solve their puzzles. These new Secret Vaults can be found in ruins scattered all across the Wilds, and each has at least one puzzle lock that players must crack in order to get the loot inside.

Luckily for players searching for loot to help them score a Victory Royale and some Battle Stars for the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 Battle Pass, these puzzle locks generally aren’t too tricky. However, to reach Secret Vaults, players might have to face the many dangers of the Wilds, including hostile raptors, other players, and more. Knowing how and where to access them is vital.

Loot exchange doors are the most basic and require players to exchange a single item for access. However, they only take items of a certain item quality or higher. These doors are surrounded by a glow, which indicates the minimum item quality required.

Statue doors are also simple. To open a Secret Vault with a statue door, players must interact with one of the big statues that can be found close by. Interacting with the wrong statue will teleport players up into the air, forcing them to skydive back down and try again.

Brazier doors are the most complex. Secret Vaults with brazier doors will have several braziers with purple flames in front of them. To open them, players must explore the rest of the ruin and find similar braziers, which will be placed in a pattern that matches the braziers in front of the Secret Vault. Some will be lit, while others won’t be. Players must memorize which braziers are lit and which aren’t, and then extinguish the matching braziers in front of the Secret Vault door.
