A few hours ago, messages started appearing online claiming that the release version of Baldur’s Gate 3 is already available on torrents three days before its release. But after several hours, nobody could find any real confirmation of these words.
The thing is, the original post about the leak appeared on the 4Chan forum and turned out to be a simple fabrication – after seven hours, nobody could find it. The developers themselves just put the final nail in the coffin of this rumor - according to the latest official information, the release version of the role-playing game will weigh 122 GB (which does not correspond to the size of the “leak”).
As mentioned earlier, saves from early access are not compatible with the final version, although Larian claims that “so much has changed that it’s worth starting over”. It has also been confirmed that the game has been tested on the Steam Deck and works with the most optimal graphics settings. Split-screen is disabled, but there is full controller support.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive open-world role-playing game from the creators of the Divinity: Original Sin series. Larian announced a one-month delay for the PC version, moving the release from August 31st to September 3rd, in order to avoid clashing with Starfield from Bethesda, which is coming out in early September. The PlayStation 5 version, on the other hand, has been slightly delayed until September 6th, and the release dates for the Xbox Series X and S versions remain unknown (more about the delay of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox here).
In an interview, Vinke said that, according to the developers, a standard playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 takes between 75 and 100 hours. However, players who want to “do everything” should expect this number to double.
