Toward the end of the last Chapter 2 mission in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, you will have to take down a massive tetrapod named the Sea Spider in a challenging boss fight. An incredibly aggressive enemy, this boss is surprisingly mobile, leaping around the battlefield while shooting at your mech. You’ll have to keep track of different attack patterns to stand a chance against this mechanical arachnid.
The Sea Spider appears as the last obstacle within the “Ocean Crossing” mission, with a far larger stagger meter and health bar than previous bosses like the Juggernaut in Armored Core 6. Make sure to bring energy or explosive weapons with high Impact damage either in your mech’s hands or on its shoulders. This should let you stagger the Spider throughout the fight and cause your next attacks to become direct hits until it recovers.
The attacks you need to watch out for during phase 1 are the Sea Spider’s stomp and red lasers. The boss will sometimes leap toward your mech, rearing back its front legs to stop downward in a devastating strike that could take out half your Armor Points (AP). Even if you avoid this, the machine constantly fires a short burst of laser shots from afar, forcing you to boost around while managing your Energy.

The second phase makes the Sea Spider even more chaotic as the boss flies into the sky and fires lasers down below. Stay away or above the Spider when this happens, using homing missiles or long-range cannons to keep up the pressure. When this enemy’s health drops close to 30%, it will unleash a terrifying attack where it spins in place with its lasers activated, dealing huge damage on contact.
