Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and Major Update 2.0 Unveils Exciting Gameplay and Enhanced Features

It was evident that the creators of‍ the⁢ Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 would not be content with⁣ just one gameplay presentation during⁤ Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2023. They returned to showcase a new 10-minute gameplay video featuring numerous new features they‌ have prepared for ‌us.

The new⁢ gameplay was revealed to IGN ⁢during the official Gamescom stream and includes an‍ interview with Gabrielle ⁢Amatangelo, the person responsible for the⁢ new adventure ⁤in ⁣Night City. There is nothing in‌ the interview that we are not‍ already aware of, but it provides us with another glimpse into ‍the chaos and violence we will encounter in Dogtown.

If you desire more, ⁤CD Projekt Red conducted a livestream where several team members divulged additional details. You can watch the recording here.

Some details:

Update 2.0 ‌will be released slightly⁤ earlier⁢ than the Phantom Liberty expansion, specifically before September ⁤26th.
During the stream, they showcased one ⁤of the introductory segments of the expansion – a meeting with the netrunner Soika, who contacts V. This meeting will unlock ‌an additional skill tree called Relic, which enhances various skills and‌ implants.‍ Skill points for‌ this new branch can only be ‍obtained‌ by exploring Dogtown.
Amatangelo briefly discussed the revamped perk and ability tree, as well as ⁣the possibilities. If⁤ desired, the character can be transformed into a “terminator” by granting them an additional health⁤ reserve and enhanced melee combat moves.
There will be no cyberpsychosis mechanics.
During the stream, they demonstrated the revamped police system, including ‌car chases. The level of police interest is indicated by stars (ranging from one ⁢to five) next to the mini-map.⁣ The wealthier the district, the quicker the police will respond to counter-actions. “Max-Tac” will intervene at the maximum level of pursuit and will have the ability to hack the‍ protagonist’s car.
The police will autonomously⁢ pursue criminals in the open world.⁤ Players ⁢can choose to resist or attempt to evade law‍ enforcement.
Details about Idris Elba’s role were not disclosed, but ⁤it was mentioned that⁤ he will play an extremely important‍ part in ‌the plot’s development. On the other hand, communication with Johnny Silverhand will be a ⁤significant aspect of Phantom Liberty, and ‍the ‌relationship will gradually evolve.
Players‌ will not only be able ‌to engage in shootouts while driving, but also⁤ hack other people’s vehicles.

Phantom Liberty will be available on⁢ September 26, ⁤2023, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series ⁢X/S.
