Caution is Advised: Romances in Baldur’s Gate 3 Can Prove Fatal if You Choose Wrongly.

Developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 have decided to provide more detailed information about the mechanics and features shown during the last Panel From Hell. In particular, Larian Studios has decided to further discuss the romantic relationships between characters.

We already know why the squirrel dropped its nut, but it turns out that a hot encounter with a bear is not the only thing that can await players – romantic relationships should be approached with caution, otherwise they may encounter various outcomes.

As one example, a romance with one of the characters was mentioned, in which, if options are chosen thoughtlessly, the player’s character can participate in an exciting sexual ritual of an evil deity, resulting in the hero being sacrificed.

In other examples, the outcomes are not so radical – relationships can lead to the character transforming into a vampire or to a wedding. According to the developers, no romance will follow the same formula.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive open-world role-playing game from the creators of the Divinity: Original Sin series. Larian announced the postponement of the PC release date by one month, from August 31 to August 3, in order to avoid collision with Starfield from Bethesda, which is coming out in early September. The PlayStation 5 version, meanwhile, is slightly delayed until September 6, and the Xbox Series X and S versions remain without a release date (more details about the delay of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox here).

In an interview, Vinke said that in the developers’ opinion, the standard playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 takes between 75 and 100 hours. However, players who want to “do everything” should expect this number to double.
