Well, it turns out that Larian Studios has hired intimacy coordinators for romantic scenes! These coordinators, actresses Jennifer English and Devor Wild, who played Shadowheart and Lae’zel, shared this information.
So, what exactly do intimacy coordinators do? No, they don’t act out the sex scenes – there are stand-ins for that. Instead, coordinators explain the actors the specific choreography of intimacy, ensuring that it looks beautiful on screen, and also help prepare them psychologically. This makes playing intimate scenes easier and more comfortable for the actors.
Overall, it’s a great addition to the production process.
