Recent leaks regarding The Sims 4 are suggesting that a fan-favorite feature of The Sims 3 may finally be making its way into the current game. The popular life simulation game is known for having many regular content updates and additions, but neither EA nor Maxis has confirmed that this leak is true. The last major expansion which The Sims 4 released was Growing Together, which launched in March 2023. This means that any new expansion is not likely to be released for several more months at least.
This new leak comes by way of a tweet from TheHenfordHen (via Sims Community), which states that the gaming websites CD Keys and Instant Gaming both listed a new Sims 4: Horse Ranch expansion pack as coming soon in 2023. If these rumors are correct, it appears that the new Horse Ranch expansion could be priced at $39.99 USD. That price suggests it would be a large expansion rather than a simple DLC. In addition to introducing horses to the game, it could likely include more furniture, decorations, and possibly even a new map for the horse ranch to be located in.
The Cottage Living pack for The Sims 4 let players have many animals to care for in their game, but still horses were absent from its content. In The Sims 3, players were able to ride their horses around the open world and even compete with them, and the feature was one that many fans of the series loved and have waited to see brought to Sims 4. The advanced graphics and capabilities of Sims 4 could provide even more possibilities for horses to provide countless hours of enjoyment to fans. If this leak is correct and a Horse Ranch expansion pack is on its way, it will be a welcome addition.

Horses were added to Sims 3 in a later expansion and not a part of the original base game. Sims 4 has already followed in its predecessor’s footsteps with similar expansions and DLCs to those that were made for Sims 3, which has provided hope for fans that horses would also be a later expansion to the game, though many were disappointed to not see them included with Cottage Living. If these leaks are correct, fans of The Sims 4 could be having their characters riding ponies later this year.
