Returning to the “good old Assassin’s Creed” turned out to be not very successful. Especially considering that, in addition to the usual problems pointed out by reviewers, players complain about the chromatic aberration effect, which doesn’t look great in AC Mirage (if not worse).
According to the developers’ intention, this feature should reproduce the real property of the lens of the human eye or camera, which, in short, makes us see darker objects with a “frame,” so to speak. In other words, it should enhance the graphics realism and, consequently, immersion in the game.
The problem is that chromatic aberration in Assassin’s Creed Mirage looks terrible. Objects in the game have blurred edges, which quickly tires the eyes and can even be distracting. This is especially noticeable when playing close to the screen.
The number of complaints about this option is so high (according to Reddit), that players are mass-requesting to disable this option. In their opinion, it not only does not provide a positive effect but also ruins the gaming experience.
Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no option to disable or even adjust chromatic aberration in the game. Moreover, even after digging into the files of the PC version, players have not found a way to completely solve this problem, although they have been able to at least reduce the excessive blurriness of objects.
