With Genshin Impact Version 3.7 on the horizon, some fans are beginning to look towards the rumors and leaks of Version 3.8 as Fontaine’s arrival inches closer. Although HoYoverse is likely focused on the launch of Fontaine, the developer is still preparing exciting content for the big summer update. Unlike the last two summers, however, it seems fans will not be returning to Golden Apple Archipelago.
Over the summers of 2021 and 2022, Genshin Impact has released a limited-time region called the Golden Apple Archipelago, a tropical vacation destination safeguarded by Klee’s mother, Alice. However, respected leakers agree that Summer 2023 will not feature a return to this fan-favorite locale. Golden Apple Archipelago will instead be replaced by a new region.
Veluriyam Mirage will not be part of the main Genshin Impact map but will be separate in the same style as the strange realm of Enkanomiya, the Chasm’s underground portions, and Golden Apple Archipelago. The event centered around this limited-time map will offer a free copy of Layla for all players who play through the various minigames within the event. Veluriyam Mirage may also include a mysterious entity named Necalevia, but as nothing is known of them at this time, this is speculation.
There will be no new 5-Star or 4-Star characters in Version 3.8 of Genshin Impact. However, the leaked banners are a cause for celebration among many hardcore fans. Eula and Klee will lead the Phase 1 banners, marking an end to Eula’s year and a half absence from banners. Since Sangonomiya Kokomi and the Wanderer are rumored to participate in the main event, they are set to star in the Phase 2 banners.
The 4-Star characters accompanying the Genshin Impact Version 3.8 banners have also been leaked. Phase 1 will include Mika, Rosaria, and Razor playing support to Klee and Eula. Since Mika’s best team comps in Genshin Impact include Eula, and she is his direct superior in the Knights of Favonius, it is no surprise that Mika will join her on her banner. Phase 2 features Thoma, Yanfei, and Faruzan, representing the nations left out in the Mondstadt-heavy Phase 1.
