Although the winds have started to calm down and fresh firefighters are on the scene, including incarcerated ones, LA city fire chief Kristin M Crowley emphasized that the danger is far from over, especially with a new fire breaking out in the Hollywood Hills.
LA county fire chief Anthony Marrone stated that there are insufficient firefighters in LA county to combat fires of this scale. The affected area is almost as large as San Francisco.
