Xbox Unveils Two New Core Controllers in Elite Series 2

Xbox has announced two new controllers in its Elite Series 2 – Core range. These controllers will be joining the already wide range of Xbox’s Elite family.

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 was released in November 2019, four years after Xbox’s first Elite controllers. The Elite Series 2 initially shipped with the controller itself, a thumbstick adjustment tool, a charging dock, a USB-C cable, a set of four paddles, additional thumbsticks and a D-pad, and a carrying case. Pre-orders for the Elite Series 2 – Core opened in September 2022. The difference was the Elite Series 2 – Core came with a white plastic body and only the controller itself, the thumbstick adjustment tool, and the USB-C cable. All the other components were available to purchase at an additional price. Lastly, in October 2022, the Elite Series 2 was added as an option for the Xbox Design Lab.

As an addition to the Elite Series 2 – Core range, Xbox has now announced two new colors. Instead of just white, fans will soon be able to purchase the controller in Vibrant Red or Blue. These controllers will contain all the capabilities of the Elite Series 2. Xbox promises “limitless customization with exclusive button mapping,” as well as heightened sensitivity for the smallest of movements. With the help of the Xbox Accessories App, players are able to set up custom profiles, which will allow for further customization, such as picking what color the Xbox button lights up with. This feature is available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows PC. However, with the help of the USB-C cable, gamers will also be able to connect their controllers to their mobile devices. These controllers will be available for $139.99 worldwide.

If players would like to later enjoy the full scope of possibilities the Xbox Elite 2 offers, they’re able to purchase the Complete Component Pack for $59.99. The two new colors are currently only available for pre-order, and they will be shipping on April 11. They also come with Microsoft’s 1-year limited warranty.
