Exciting news has emerged as two Warner Bros. Discovery directors, Steven Miron and Steven Newhouse, have announced their resignation. This decision comes in the wake of a U.S. Department of Justice investigation into a potential antitrust violation. The company’s official release on Monday confirmed the departure of Miron and Newhouse.
Both directors were appointed in April 2022 as part of the WarnerMedia and Discovery merger. The investigation revolves around their involvement on the board and whether it breaches Section 8 of the Clayton Antitrust Act, which prohibits simultaneous service on the boards of competing companies.
Miron, the CEO of Advance/Newhouse Partnership, and a senior executive officer at Advance, is under scrutiny due to his affiliations with media investments.
