Apple recently released a short film to highlight its Personal Voice accessibility feature, which was introduced in iOS 17. This feature allows users to create digital versions of their voice for calls, supported apps, and Apple’s Live Speech tool.
For individuals at risk of permanently losing their voice due to conditions like Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, and vocal cord paralysis, not sounding like themselves can contribute to a sense of identity loss. Creating a copy of their voice while still able to do so may help alleviate the feeling of never being oneself again or the concern that loved ones won’t recognize their voice.
