Curious about what CEOs are pondering this earnings season?
Schumpeter has a fondness for handwritten letters, a dying art in today’s digital age. Last year, he penned a letter to Larry Fink of BlackRock, hoping to spark a connection through the written word. Despite quoting John Donne’s “letters mingle souls”, the response was an interview offer, not a letter exchange. The personal touch, however, still lingers in the latest shareholder letters from Fink, Warren Buffett, and Jamie Dimon.
These letters offer more than just personal anecdotes. They provide insight into how corporate leaders view the world, especially as the spring earnings season kicks off. Dimon and Jassy’s letters, in particular, hint at a less optimistic outlook following a period of market optimism fueled by hopes of lower inflation and interest rates.
