The renowned Behaviour Interactive studio has successfully transitioned their spine-chilling action game Dead by Daylight to the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 5. Despite the usual anticipation for enhanced features and graphics, this update brought a surprising twist.
Players were required to download a substantial patch, ranging from 30 to 45 GB. Surprisingly, the game ended up occupying less disk space than its predecessor. The shift to UE5 did not introduce significant gameplay improvements or visual upgrades, with developers hinting at future enhancements. Currently, Dead by Daylight resembles World of Warcraft in its appearance.
The update also revamped the in-game store and altered the post-match statistics display. Balancing adjustments were made, and numerous bugs were fixed. For a detailed list of changes, refer to this link.
However, not all players are content with the move to Unreal Engine 5. Performance issues have been reported, and users with older hardware face difficulties launching the online horror game. Even owners of powerful Intel processors encounter problems that necessitate BIOS adjustments.
Dead by Daylight made its debut in 2016 and has since received regular updates, introducing characters from various movies and franchises. At one point, the game earned a “Praiseworthy” rating from StopGame.
