Yesterday marked the launch of the first DLC for Diablo IV, titled Vessel of Hatred. This release also heralded the beginning of the Hatred Rising season, introducing significant changes that impact all players, whether or not they have purchased the expansion.
For a detailed overview of all the recent updates by Blizzard, check out their developer blog. Here are some key highlights that were generously provided to base game owners at no extra cost:
- Prepare for a new world event – encounter Realmwalkers who spawn every 15 minutes in various locations with portals on their backs.
- Slaying a Realmwalker grants access to a dungeon filled with foes and treasures, where you can acquire rare opals serving as elixirs. These opals offer a 30-minute experience boost and unique effects.
- Embark on fresh quests from Zakarum veterans and trade for new rare components.
- The progression system has been revamped with a level cap of 60, unlocking additional ability points upon leveling up. Paragon enhancement points have been reallocated accordingly.
- Say farewell to world levels as Diablo IV now features eight difficulty tiers. Enemies grow stronger with each tier increase, offering more rewarding loot. The final four tiers cater to endgame challenges.
- Each character class boasts a new active skill along with five passive skills.
- A novel battle pass system is now in place.
- An interface facilitating team formation allows customization of group parameters and objectives.
The Vessel of Hatred expansion encountered initial hiccups but subsequent improvements such as revamped leveling systems and enhanced difficulty settings may lure back long-lost adventurers to Sanctuary’s embrace.
