Apple is diving headfirst into the world of AI in a uniquely Apple fashion. During WWDC, the company’s annual developer conference, Apple unveiled Apple Intelligence, their own take on AI technology. This new initiative focuses on integrating AI into their software and enhancing existing apps to provide more functionality. Apple Intelligence will utilize Apple’s proprietary technology in addition to a collaboration with OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT, as announced by Apple.
One of the most significant AI improvements from Apple is coming to Siri. The voice assistant will now be powered by advanced language models, the foundation of modern generative AI. Siri, which has seen limited advancements in recent years, is poised to become much more interactive by seamlessly integrating with Apple’s operating systems and applications. Users will be able to ask Siri for summaries of news articles, delete emails, or even edit photos. Additionally, Siri will be capable of performing over 100 different actions based on user commands.
