Unveiling a New Game Mechanic in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Inspired by Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

The highly anticipated story expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, ⁣for the intense action⁣ game Elden Ring is⁤ set to become FromSoftware studio’s largest DLC to date. This DLC promises to deliver⁣ a new area to explore, fresh characters, global events,⁤ and unique ‌gameplay mechanics, as revealed by game designer Hidetaka Miyazaki in an interview with Famitsu, a Japanese publication.

Miyazaki hinted at a new gameplay mechanic in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree,⁢ drawing inspiration from another hardcore FromSoftware game, Sekiro: ⁣Shadows Die Twice. This mechanic will allow players to enhance their character in a special way, similar to the character development process in Sekiro. According to Miyazaki,⁤ this enhancement will be exclusive to the DLC area, providing players with more control over the game’s difficulty ‍at higher levels.

Furthermore, the expansion ⁣will introduce 8 new types of weapons, spells, and activated abilities, including traditional ⁤Japanese swords and more unconventional weapons like the dueling ⁣shield and throwing daggers.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is set to launch on June 21 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
