In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Neil Druckmann, the head of Naughty Dog, revealed that the studio is not only working on multiple projects but also focusing on developing single-player games. Druckmann assured fans that The Last of Us will not be the sole focus of the studio indefinitely.
“We have a variety of games in the pipeline, including several engaging single-player experiences,” Druckmann stated. He emphasized that Naughty Dog remains committed to crafting narratives that center around compelling stories, well-developed characters, and meaningful relationships. “Our games always have a deep philosophical underpinning that drives the entire experience,” Druckmann elaborated.
While Druckmann did not disclose specific details about the upcoming projects, he did mention that the multiplayer spin-off of The Last of Us has been scrapped. Meanwhile, production for the second season of the HBO show based on the game is ongoing, with an anticipated release in 2025.
