Recently, hidden cut content from Red Dead Redemption 2 has been unearthed, nearly six years after the game’s initial release. Rockstar’s cowboy adventure title is renowned for its expansive open-world map, where players navigate the perils of the Wild West, encountering foes and friends alike. The game received widespread acclaim for its immersive realism and captivating storyline, centered around the complex character of Arthur. Despite its vastness, it appears that there were numerous elements of Red Dead Redemption 2’s story and gameplay that were left on the cutting room floor.
A YouTube channel called Red Dead Redemption Stories has brought attention to the discovery of four previously unreleased audio files that were removed from the game. These files all pertain to a particular cutscene in the “A Quiet Time” quest, involving Arthur, Dutch, Molly O’Shea, and Lenny.
The first audio file contains unedited moments, capturing background sounds of actors moving around during the scene. The second file is a collection of various takes, including a blooper in which Dutch’s actor, Benjamin Byron Davis, breaks character. The third file appears to be the final version used in the game, lacking additional sound effects. These audio files provide a fascinating glimpse into the development process of Red Dead Redemption 2.
