Ukraine swiftly sent reinforcements to its northern border on Friday in response to Russian forces attempting to breach Ukrainian lines along multiple sections, adding new pressure on already stretched forces along a 600-mile front.
The Russian attacks began early Friday with heavy shelling and aerial bombardments of Ukrainian positions, followed by armored columns trying to break through at various points along the border, as reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.
The Ministry stated, “The attacks have been repelled so far, and battles of varying intensity are ongoing. Reserve units have been deployed to strengthen the defense in this sector of the front.”

White House officials announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, expressing confidence that Russia’s border push would not result in significant battlefield gains.
John F. Kirby, a White House national security spokesman, stated, “We have been expecting Russia to launch an offensive against Kharkiv, which seems to have begun. We are closely coordinating with Ukraine to assist them in preparation. Currently, we believe Russia has escalated cross-border attacks and initiated initial incursions.”
Kirby added that in the upcoming weeks, “Russia is likely to intensify attacks and deploy additional troops” to…
