An investigation by the Ukrainian edition of TSN has uncovered the story of Margarita Prokopenko, a girl from occupied Kherson who was adopted by Sergei Mironov, the leader of the “Fair Russia” party, and his wife Inna Varlamova. They assumed parental roles, changed the girl’s name in official documents, and listed Podolsk as her birthplace.
Leaked correspondence from Varlamova revealed that she conducted a blood type analysis on the girl, expressing joy when it matched Mironov’s. The couple also allegedly discussed adopting children from Ukraine with their older children, instructing them to keep it confidential.
