Japan experienced multiple heatwaves during the summer of 2024 with record-breaking temperatures recorded throughout. The average temperature for three summer months was significantly above normal with Tokyo expecting unusually high temperatures reaching 34C (93.2F) later this week.
As colder air moves in from the north over the weekend and early next week, temperatures are expected to drop by about 10C bringing them slightly below seasonal averages.
