Since its global rise to fame in 2017, Fortnite by Epic Games has dominated the battle royale genre. The game strategically made certain cosmetic items extremely rare, either by limited releases in the item shop or through external purchases. Despite player pleas for skins like Black Knight or Renegade Raider to make a comeback, Epic Games has stood firm on keeping these exclusives limited.
While Fortnite may not be at its peak popularity, it remains relevant by constantly evolving. The game’s appeal extends to a wide audience through collaborations with pop culture icons like Invincible, Dune, and Marvel. With over a thousand outfit choices, some skins in Fortnite remain highly coveted and elusive.
The iconic Reaper outfit, inspired by John Wick, was one of Fortnite’s early standout designs. Before the era of extensive collaborations, Epic Games created a lookalike to pay homage without legal issues. Even after five years, the Reaper skin maintains its sleek appeal.
To obtain this skin, players had to achieve the maximum level in the Chapter 1, Season 3 Battle Pass. While a more accurate John Wick skin was later introduced, the rarity of the Reaper skin persists. The Honor Guard outfit, a blue variant of the original Overtaker biker skin, was part of the Vanishing Point Set in Chapter 1, Season 5 and posed a greater challenge to acquire compared to typical item shop purchases.
