Shortly after the House approved a bill that could potentially prohibit TikTok in the US, Shou Chew, the CEO of the company, called on users to “defend your constitutional rights.” Chew also hinted at TikTok’s intention to legally challenge the bill if it becomes law.
“We will persist in fighting and standing up for you,” Chew stated in a video shared on X. “We will utilize all available means, including our legal rights, to safeguard this incredible platform that we have created with you.” He also encouraged TikTok users in the US to share their experiences with friends, family, and senators. “This bill, if enacted, will result in a ban on TikTok in the US,” Chew warned. “Even the bill’s sponsors acknowledge that this is their objective.”
