CD Projekt Red’s release of the REDkit toolkit has sparked a wave of new modifications for The Witcher 3, offering fans fresh content to explore. From relocated Vizima to the Old Camp and Horynys, the possibilities are endless. One dedicated fan took it a step further by recreating the game’s lost final segment, shedding light on previously unseen events.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
In the original game ending, Geralt is rescued by Yennefer after defeating Eredin and transported to Undvik, where they embark on a journey to find Ciri. However, the recreated version paints a different picture.
In this alternate scenario, Geralt awakens in a makeshift hospital at a Nilfgaardian camp on Undvik. Ciri is missing, taken by Avallach, and the mission is to locate her with the help of the imprisoned Lodge of Sorceresses. The supposed amnesty promised by Yennefer turns out to be a ruse, leading to a daring escape by Triss with Yen’s aid.
This recreated scene offers insight into the fate of the Lodge, a storyline omitted from the final game. CD Projekt Red originally intended to include this plot twist but altered their plans for pacing reasons.
Players speculate that the decision was made to maintain the game’s momentum after the intense battle with Eredin, ensuring a satisfying conclusion.
Aside from the main storyline, the recreated content features intriguing elements like Crach’s funeral, adding depth to the game’s lore. The creator also promises a video showcasing alternative dialogue options for further exploration.
