In response to mass protests, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has agreed to pause legislation aimed at weakening the Supreme Court and politicising judicial appointments. Organisers claim that nearly 7% of the population marched against the new laws, with thousands of soldiers and pilots in elite reserve units stating they would not report for duty if the law passed. The calm may last until April 30th, when the Knesset sits again.
