There has been a recent discussion on Reddit about the limited options for female character appearances in modern video games. A user named Deviantmoth expressed her disappointment with the inability to create heroines that reflect her own physical characteristics. She pointed out that most games only offer a maximum cup size of 34DD, which is considered average in the USA.
“I have a big chest. I want my character to look like me. I can’t make my character look like me because obviously, creating something larger than DD is unrealistic.”
Deviantmoth believes that these restrictions may be related to taboos in the gaming industry. Some users speculated that developers avoid creating characters with voluptuous shapes due to the challenges in modeling, texturing, and simulating physics.
However, many agreed that developers’ fear of potential scandals and criticism regarding the sexualization of female characters in games may be a significant factor in this issue.
