Turkey declares that all Kurdish facilities in Syria and Iraq are legitimate military targets. This statement comes after the discovery that the two attackers responsible for the bomb explosion in front of government buildings in Ankara had originated from Syria.
In response to the attack, Turkey’s military has carried out airstrikes in northern Iraq and conducted multiple raids across the country. These operations have resulted in the detention of numerous suspects believed to have connections with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is classified as a “terrorist group” by Turkey and its Western allies.
To address the attack, the Turkish government held a national security meeting on Wednesday to formulate its response.
One of the attackers was shot dead by Turkish police, while the other died in an apparent suicide blast outside the Ministry of the Interior. Two policemen were injured in the incident.
