An interesting trend has emerged among users of popular weight loss and diabetes medications known as GLP-1s – they are not only losing their appetites but also reducing their food expenses.
Results from a recent Morgan Stanley survey reveal that a majority of GLP-1 users are cutting back on dining out and ordering takeout, with a smaller percentage opting to save money on groceries as well.
This shift in consumer behavior raises concerns about the potential impact on the profits of major restaurant chains and snack manufacturers like Doritos, Oreos, and Hershey’s Kisses. Notable GLP-1 medications include Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy and Ozempic, as well as Eli Lilly’s Zepbound.
