Suicide Squad’s Misstep Sparks Surge in Batman Game Players on Steam

Even before its official release, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice⁣ League has‍ sparked significant criticism from both casual gamers⁢ and specialized press. Developed by Rocksteady Studios, the creators of the beloved Batman: Arkham franchise, the game currently⁤ holds a Metascore rating of 59.

Despite the‍ negative reception of Suicide Squad, the game’s release has had a ‌surprising impact‍ on the popularity of other titles from Rocksteady Studios. Games such as Batman: Arkham ⁢Knight, Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition (1,089 players), and Batman: Arkham City GOTY (1,301 players) have‌ all experienced ‌a surge in player numbers‌ on Steam in recent days.

Even Batman: Arkham‍ Origins (911 players),⁢ which was not‍ developed by Rocksteady, saw‌ a similar increase in player activity. At one point, there were more players on ⁤Steam engaging with Batman: Arkham Knight than with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice ‍League.

Furthermore, the rise in player numbers for Batman: Arkham Knight is not limited to‌ PC on Steam.‌ TrueTrophies has reported an increase ⁣in players on PlayStation as well. Following the release of‌ Suicide Squad on PS5, there was a 25% increase in Batman: Arkham Knight players,‌ and within two weeks, the player count on both PS5 and PS4 ⁤had risen by over 50%.

Suicide⁤ Squad: Kill the Justice League is available on PC, PS5, and‍ Xbox Series‌ S|X.
