Starting January 29, Amazon’s Prime Video will introduce advertisements unless an additional payment is made


Amazon has begun informing Prime Video subscribers that they ‌will need to pay an additional fee if they ‌wish⁤ to ​avoid interruptions from commercials.⁤ In ‌an email sent to ⁤customers, ​the company‍ stated⁤ that starting on January 29, it will begin‍ displaying “limited advertisements”​ during its⁢ service’s movies and shows. Those⁢ who‍ prefer an ad-free experience will be required to pay an extra $3 per​ month on top of their Prime subscription or their standalone $9-per-month​ Prime Video membership. 

The company ​initially announced its intention to include ⁣ads with its ⁤content ​in September, with ⁢the US, UK, Germany, and Canada being the first ‌regions affected.
