Starfield‘s early access period let those willing to pay extra play Bethesda Game Studios’ latest RPG on August 31, but the game won’t see its wide release nor its day-one Game Pass availability until September 6. As one of the biggest game releases of the year – already earning itself a slew of high-scoring reviews – Starfield’s exact release time will be anticipated by many who didn’t opt for early access. The full launch appears to be happening worldwide at 12:00 AM Greenwich Mean Time, meaning the only difference in release time is when that is according to individual time zones, putting the release on the evening of September 5 for some.
Starfield has been eligible to preload for quite some time, with downloads for Xbox Series X/S available since August 17, and PC since August 30. With many likely planning on playing Starfield on Game Pass day one, the game should be immediately playable as long as it’s been installed beforehand. Preloading is advisable as well, since Starfield is Bethesda’s largest game to date, and carries a hefty file size of around 125 GB.
