Sony’s Airpeak S1 camera drone to be phased out in March: Get yours before it’s gone!

Sony‍ has made the decision to discontinue the Airpeak S1 camera drone, with sales ending on March 31, 2025. Most of the ​drone’s accessories will also⁢ no longer be available ‍after next year, except ⁢for replacement batteries ⁢and propellers⁣ until March 31, 2026. The company will continue to offer ​inspections, repairs, and software ‌maintenance services until March 31, 2030.

Unveiled during a​ virtual presentation at CES in 2021, the Airpeak S1 was designed to capture high-definition footage using Sony’s full-frame mirrorless interchangeable-lens Alpha cameras. With‌ a flight ​time​ of up to 12⁣ minutes when carrying‌ a camera and a maximum speed of 55.9mph, this high-end ⁤drone came with a hefty price tag of around $9,000 before adding any accessories. Despite ⁣its impressive specs, it received mixed to negative ⁤reviews from users.
