One player of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim managed to pull off a fierce and fiery takedown of a distant enemy in the hit Bethesda Softworks game, capturing the explosive encounter on video in a new clip. Even among the many fantastic features in the sprawling action RPG, Skyrim’s killcam stands out as one of the best, giving players a cinematic replay of some of their most epic in-game moments.
The fifth entry in the long-running action RPG series that began with 1994’s The Elder Scrolls: Arena, Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim remains popular with gamers worldwide even over a decade on from its initial release. Featuring a massive open world, memorable characters, and hundreds of hours of content in the base game alone, Skyrim has managed to draw in both hardcore gamers and those new to the RPG genre. Contributing to the 2011 title’s lasting appeal is the game’s built-in mod support, which has allowed amateur designers to add everything from new areas and items to a 4K graphics mod for Skyrim’s dungeons.
In a new clip shared to the r/skyrim subreddit, user TheImperator666 showed off their impressive Skyrim archery skills, brutally dispatching an enemy mage from long distance with an explosive arrow. The clip begins with TheImperator666 walking outside a castle with dagger in hand when they notice a mage protected by a ward on the castle walkway. Quickly devising a strategy to break through the magical defenses, they switch to a legendary bow and let loose a fiery arrow that catches the enemy square in the forehead, dispatching the mage in a burst of flame.
Fans of Skyrim responding to the clip, titled “H-H-H-Headshot!” in homage to the classic callout from Unreal Tournament’s announcer, were impressed with the archer’s astounding accuracy. Poking a bit of fun at TheImperator666’s decidedly non-stealthy approach to dispatching the mage, one commenter joked “Ah yeah the twist on the stealth archer build – the standing openly in plain sight archer!” Another popular comment remarked on the audio cues in the game, noting that they found the sound of glass shattering when landing a headshot to be particularly satisfying.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

On Wednesday, August 19th, a video that quickly made its rounds on the internet caught the world’s attention. In the video, a player of the popular video game Skyrim is seen performing an amazing feat: a long-range, explosive headshot.
The video showed the gamer skilfully aim the bow and arrow, propelling the arrow towards the distant target. As the arrow was released, an explosion ringed the target, and it was clear that the arrow had exploded directly in the head of the enemy.
The player of the game, who goes simply by the ID ‘EpicArrows’, has received a great deal of admiration for their impressive shot. Social media has been overrun with praise and shock as to how they were able to pull off such an incredible feat.
Skyrim, developed by Bethesda Studio and released in 2011, is a popular action role-playing video game in which players assume the role of a Viking-like warrior, often engaging in combat, espionage and exploration. Players are able to customise a character, choosing from a range of weapons and magic in order to progress through the game.
The video of the player’s incredible headshot is a reminder of the skill and delicacy of the game. That one arrow contained enough power and precision to bring down an enemy from a great distance and in one hit, an accomplishment that will certainly not be forgotten by Skyrim players anytime soon.
