The charged individual from Fairfield Heights in western Sydney is facing allegations of riot and threatening violence that caused fear during the chaotic events outside the Assyrian Christ the Good Shepherd church.
Scheduled to appear in Parramatta bail court on Saturday, the 45-year-old is implicated in the incident that attracted around 2,000 people to the Wakeley church, resulting in significant damage to police vehicles and injuries to officers.
In connection to the livestreamed attack on Emmanuel, a 16-year-old boy has been charged with committing a terrorist act.
His legal representative highlighted the boy’s history of mental health treatment since childhood, suggesting behavior consistent with mental illness or intellectual disability.
The potential penalty for the charge is life imprisonment.
The first person arrested for involvement in the riots, Dani Mansour, was granted bail under strict conditions, including a prohibition on social media use.
Mansour, charged with riot, affray, and property damage, must adhere to various restrictions and report regularly to the authorities.
The court heard allegations of Mansour filming himself engaging in destructive behavior during the riot and sharing the footage on social media.
Efforts are underway to identify other individuals involved in the violence, with the NSW police commissioner urging community assistance in identifying the perpetrators.
Webb emphasized the importance of swift identification and legal action against the rioters to maintain public safety.
