As of March 31, three titles will be departing from Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft regularly introduces new first and third-party titles to its popular subscription service each month, but it also removes certain titles to make room for them.
This month, Xbox Game Pass welcomed a plethora of titles, including Remedy’s highly praised shooter Control, which returned to the service with its Ultimate Edition content, as well as No More Heroes 3, Diablo 4 – set to join the service on March 28 - and more. Regrettably, Hardspace and Shredders were removed on March 15, and while Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered was initially slated to leave on that date, Microsoft reversed this decision without explanation. Now, the following three titles are set to depart the subscription later this month:
Both Hot Wheels Unleashed: GOTY Edition and Infinite Guitars were enjoyable titles, and it’s disappointing to see them leave Xbox Game Pass. Hot Wheels Unleashed: GOTY Edition allowed players to collect a variety of cars to race on the impressive and outrageous tracks they create, while Infinite Guitars was a vibrant rhythm-based RPG with anime-inspired art and a diverse soundtrack spanning rock, metal, hip hop, funk, and jazz to appeal to a wide range of musical tastes.
Regarding MLB The Show 23, San Diego Studio’s baseball title appears to be replaced by the newer entry in the series, MLB The Show 24, which joins Xbox Game Pass on March 19. As with many sports titles, once a newer version is released with updated rosters, many players naturally transition to the new version, making the decision to essentially upgrade them on Xbox Game Pass logical.
While it’s always disappointing to see titles depart Xbox Game Pass, it paves the way for numerous new titles to join the service, keeping things exciting for its subscribers and providing the opportunity to play something fresh. Fortunately, Xbox Game Pass subscribers receive a 20% discount on the departing titles in advance, so those interested in keeping Hot Wheels Unleashed: GOTY Edition, Infinite Guitars, and MLB The Show 23 should take advantage of this offer before March 31.
