The IGN portal has released a new gameplay video of Alan Wake 2. The video showcases the action taking place in the Dark Place, a nightmarish version of New York City where Alan finds himself. In one of the shadowy alleyways, Alan comes across a familiar face – Alex Casey, the protagonist of Wake’s successful crime book series.
Although voiced by James McCaffrey and bearing a resemblance to Remedy’s creative director Sam Lake, Casey is not Max Payne. However, the similarities in appearance and voice are evident. Lake explained the reason behind Casey’s appearance:
In the Dark Place, Casey is a character from Wake’s books, but he is not the same FBI agent as Saga’s partner. He is a tougher and cooler version, drawing inspiration from and showing love for noir, much like Max Payne. His outfit even resembles Brad Pitt’s character in the neo-noir film “Seven”.
