According to “Vyestka,” over 100 individuals have tragically lost their lives, while more than 100 others have suffered severe injuries as a result of criminal acts committed by Russian war veterans returning from Ukraine. The data was compiled based on media coverage and legal records.
These returning soldiers have been involved in at least 84 crimes with victims, including 55 murders resulting in 76 fatalities, 18 cases of serious bodily harm, and nine fatal traffic incidents. Shockingly, there were also two instances of drug-related deaths among minors, as reported by “Vyestka.”
Upon analyzing court rulings in murder cases, it was revealed that pardoned ex-prisoners returning from Ukraine received sentences ranging from 6 to 11 years, while other soldiers faced imprisonment terms of 7.5 to 10 years. In cases of causing fatal bodily harm, sentences varied from 5.5 to 10 years and 8 months for mercenaries and 6 to 9.5 years for other combatants.
