Ernst & Young (EY), a multinational consultancy, has embraced generative AI (genAI) and is experiencing a significant transformation in its operations. With an impressive 96% adoption rate among employees, the company is leveraging its customized EY.ai platform to drive efficiencies and enable staff to focus on higher-level tasks.
Following a successful pilot with 4,200 tech-focused team members in 2023, EY rolled out its large language model (LLM) to nearly 400,000 employees worldwide. Despite this technological advancement, EY’s leadership emphasizes that humans remain central to innovation and development.
EY envisions the future evolution of artificial general intelligence (AGI) as a strategic partner that will shift the focus from task automation to true collaboration between humans and machines. Beatriz Sanz Saiz, EY’s global consulting data and AI leader, believes AGI will revolutionize how tasks are performed.
In an interview with Computerworld, Saiz discussed how genAI is reshaping EY’s operations and empowering employees:
“Since launching EY.ai a year ago, we have witnessed a profound transformation within our organization. AI has been integrated into various aspects of our operations, enhancing client service delivery and internal efficiencies. This shift has allowed teams to concentrate on high-value activities that drive innovation while AI handles complex data analysis.”
“The remarkable adoption rate of 96.4% among EY employees demonstrates the platform’s impact on collective intelligence. EY.ai serves as a catalyst for redefining work processes and upskilling our workforce rapidly.”
