Retaliatory Airstrikes Launched by US in Iraq and Syria Following Deadly Drone Attack

Joe⁢ Biden has issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that the US will retaliate if any Americans are harmed. This comes after US forces launched ⁢a series of air strikes on more than 80 targets⁢ in Iraq and Syria, targeting ⁤Iran-linked militias and ‍Tehran’s Revolutionary Guard.

The⁣ strikes were in response to a drone attack that killed⁢ three US⁢ troops in Jordan. President Biden emphasized ‍that the US response has‍ begun and will continue at times and places of their choosing.

The US military’s Central Command reported that over 125 bombs were ⁤used ‌in the attack, targeting facilities controlled by ‌Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force⁣ and affiliated militia groups.

Initial reports indicated that at least 18 pro-Iran fighters were killed in eastern Syria, ‌and at least 26 major sites housing pro-Iranian‍ groups were destroyed. ‍The attacks also targeted areas near ⁤the Iraqi border, resulting in some ‍injuries.

The airstrikes have raised concerns about regional stability and the safety of‍ Americans. US ⁣officials have clarified that there are no plans to‍ bomb Iran,⁣ as ⁤they do not intend to escalate the situation into ‌a full-scale⁢ war.
