Redesigned TV Experience and Absence of iTunes Movies or TV Shows Apps in Apple tvOS 17.2

Apple has released the latest version of tvOS,⁤ alongside updates for iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS. The main change in this update is a redesign of the core Apple ‍TV app.

The new ⁣design includes a sidebar that ‍combines content from ⁢Apple’s own services (such as Apple ⁤TV+, MLS Season Pass, and a Store for buying and renting movies) with access to third-party ⁤channels and‌ apps ‍like Disney+ and⁣ Max. The goal is to improve navigation and discoverability while still using the industry standard tile browsing format on the homepage.

On living room devices,⁤ such as Apple TV hardware‌ and the app on smart TVs, the⁤ sidebar will also include profiles. This allows users to quickly switch⁣ between profiles for personalized recommendations throughout ‌the‌ app and in the Up Next section.‌ Additionally, the Watch ⁣Now section has been renamed as Home.
