Apple has released the latest version of tvOS, alongside updates for iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS. The main change in this update is a redesign of the core Apple TV app.
The new design includes a sidebar that combines content from Apple’s own services (such as Apple TV+, MLS Season Pass, and a Store for buying and renting movies) with access to third-party channels and apps like Disney+ and Max. The goal is to improve navigation and discoverability while still using the industry standard tile browsing format on the homepage.
On living room devices, such as Apple TV hardware and the app on smart TVs, the sidebar will also include profiles. This allows users to quickly switch between profiles for personalized recommendations throughout the app and in the Up Next section. Additionally, the Watch Now section has been renamed as Home.
