Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 brought significant changes to the hacking mechanics, enhancing the effects of cyberdecks in the game. While this makes it challenging to rank them, as the best choice often depends on individual playstyles, each cyberdeck model offers unique strengths. V has a wide range of options, but certain decks still stand out as superior to others.
In Cyberpunk 2077, cyberdecks are used by V to perform hacks. The three main stats typically listed are RAM, Slots, and Buffer, with higher numbers being preferred for all three. RAM indicates the number of hacks V can perform before needing to recharge, Slots determine the number of quickhacks that can be loaded, and Buffer Size indicates the number of inputs allowed in the Breach Protocol mini-game.
The Militech Paraline is the starting cyberdeck in Cyberpunk 2077, which can be upgraded to Tier 5++ with patience and eddies. While it may not be flashy, when fully upgraded, it becomes a powerful deck. It may not be suitable for stealth, but for run-and-gun players, this cyberdeck is a solid choice due to its extra damage buffs.
In addition to the aforementioned stats, the Militech Paraline MK.4 provides a +10% damage boost to quickhacks and +2% Monowire damage per used RAM unit, up to a maximum of +30%. If V uploads a quickhack to an enemy, shooting them with a smart weapon will speed up the upload process. Furthermore, when Overclock is active, smart weapons and Monowire will deal additional electrical damage equal to 60% of the normal attack damage.
The BioDyne MK.2 is a Rare quality cyberdeck, but it is a valuable deck to have early in the game. It only costs 10,000 eddies and offers more benefits compared to other cyberdecks available at a similar price during the early stages of the game.
