Possible rephrased title: Ahsoka Rumor Suggests Major Rebels-Inspired Surprise in Star Wars

Rumors are circulating about the upcoming Disney Plus series Star Wars: Ahsoka, suggesting that the show will use a familiar plot device that has been successful in the franchise. While it is unlikely that Ahsoka will discover that Thrawn is her father, it appears that there will be a twist that will be familiar to fans of another Star Wars series.

After Rosario Dawson hinted at Ahsoka Tano’s return to The Mandalorian, rumors have been swirling about her own series. Fans have been eagerly anticipating a story focused on Ahsoka since she became a breakout favorite in the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars series. The young Force-user, who became disillusioned with the Jedi Order, had a compelling character arc that carried through her various other appearances. Now, after making her first live-action appearance in The Mandalorian, she has a whole new story to tell.

According to Making Star Wars, the Ahsoka series will feature a time jump after its first four episodes, similar to the animated series Star Wars Rebels, which had a similar skip between its second and third seasons. Interestingly, the time jump in Ahsoka is speculated to tie directly into Rebels, with the first four episodes taking place before the finale of the latter series, while the rest of the series moves forward. While unconfirmed, this seems likely given how last year’s Ahsoka sneak peek teased some heavy Rebels connections.

Ahsoka was a prominent character in The Clone Wars, but she also appeared regularly in Rebels (voiced by Ashley Eckstein in all animated appearances). After helping the main characters of the Ghost crew and facing down her former master Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, she was teased at the end of the series. After a significant time jump, she can be seen uniting with the young Mandalorian Sabine Wren to search for lost hero Ezra Bridger (who will be played by Eman Esfandi in Ahsoka), who ended the series by jumping himself and Grand Admiral Thrawn into hyperspace to save his friends.
