Minecraft is celebrating its 15th anniversary next year and we have received information about its enduring popularity: the game has now sold over 300 million copies. To put this into perspective, Grand Theft Auto V falls far behind with over 185 million copies sold. Even though it was released slightly later in 2013, Minecraft’s sales surpass the 200 million mark in 2020.
Mojang Studios made this announcement during a Minecraft Live event where they revealed new features for the game. These include a trial chamber with traps and mobs in a series of rooms and corridors. Additionally, they are developing a new Star Wars: Path of the Jedi DLC and a Planet Earth DLC, set to be released on November 7 and early next year, respectively.
