Nikki Haley recently declined to confirm her support for Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election if he secures the Republican party’s nomination to challenge Joe Biden for the White House.
As the last serious opposition to Trump, Haley’s refusal to pledge loyalty to the Republican National Committee has caused a stir, especially as Trump continues to dominate the Republican contest and maintain a strong lead ahead of Super Tuesday.
In a recent interview, Haley expressed her concerns about Trump and Biden, indicating that she no longer feels bound by the pledge of loyalty to the eventual candidate, as the RNC has undergone significant changes to become more pro-Trump.
Haley’s efforts to stop Trump from securing the nomination received a boost with the endorsement of two senior senators, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins, who believe she is the right candidate to lead the country.
Murkowski stated, “Nikki will be a strong leader and uphold the ideals of the Republican party while serving as a President for all Americans,” while Collins emphasized Haley’s qualifications and leadership qualities.
Despite this support, Trump’s hold on the Republican party remains strong, and he has already shifted his focus to targeting Joe Biden in the upcoming election.
