Activist investor Nelson Peltz is making waves at Disney, with plans to engage with shareholders and launch a campaign to add himself and former Disney CFO Jay Rasulo to the board. Trian Fund Management, led by Peltz, will be using social media and its website RestoreTheMagic.com to share its case with investors. The campaign will culminate in the release of a comprehensive white paper outlining Trian’s position. In the coming months, Trian will meet with proxy solicitors Glass Lewis and ISS, and engage in shareholder lobbying leading up to Disney’s annual meeting in April. Peltz filed a preliminary proxy statement on Thursday, outlining the reasons behind Trian’s push for change at Disney.
