Mexican authorities are trying to find two Americans who went lacking after a kayaking journey off the coast of Puerto Peñasco within the Gulf of California, native authorities stated late Saturday.
It’s unknown precisely when the couple went lacking.
Yeon-Su Kim is a forestry professor at Northern Arizona University, in keeping with her college bio.
Kim’s husband is Corey Allen, in keeping with a verified GoFundMe web page established to boost funds to help the seek for the lacking couple.
“The search will be reinforced with reconnaissance flights from the Navy and by land from the Secretary of Public Security and municipal authorities of Puerto Peñasco,” the state coordinator for the civil safety company of the Mexican state Sonora stated on Twitter.
Puerto Peñasco, also called Rocky Point, is a fishing and resort metropolis on the Gulf of California, south of Arizona.
A Northern Arizona University spokesperson issued an announcement after the couple’s disappearance.
“The NAU and Flagstaff communities are hoping and praying that Yeon-Su and her husband Corey are found soon and brought home safely,” the assertion stated.
“Yeon-Su is a respected member of our NAU faculty and is well known for the warmth she shares with everyone she works with and her passion for our forestry mission,” the assertion continued.
“We are so thankful to everyone helping with the search as well as those providing resources to support these efforts.”
