Helldivers 2 enthusiasts are known for their creativity on the battlefield, and one player has found a way to make calling in support from Stratagems easier than ever. Upon landing on a besieged planet, Helldivers have access to a variety of Stratagems that require entering a series of inputs for their orbiting Destroyer to send down equipment, supplies, and explosives. In the midst of battle, this process can be challenging, but for some players, it has become much simpler.
Highlighted in a TikTok video by user dankischillin, this resourceful Helldivers 2 fan has assigned the various Stratagems to dedicated buttons on their Stream Deck, a peripheral typically used by streamers to control their system components without navigating through various software.
By mapping the Stratagems to the macro buttons on the Stream Deck, entire bombing runs can be initiated with a single press. Dankischillin even took it a step further by including the icons for their Stratagems on the Deck, ensuring they always know the function of each button.
This innovative solution provides a way to call for extra support during intense firefights, a necessity for Helldivers 2 players to survive the onslaught of enemies attacking Super Earth. When starting the game, Helldivers have access to only a few Stratagems, including a Precision Orbital Strike and a Machine Gun. As they complete missions and liberate planets, players can unlock more powerful tools such as an Eagle Airstrike, an Orbital Laser, and even a small “Guard Dog” sentry robot that automatically fires at enemies.
While there are already numerous unique Stratagems available in Helldivers 2, fans are eagerly anticipating future additions. Developer Arrowhead has confirmed that as part of the game’s live-service model, more Helldivers 2 Stratagems will be added in future content updates. Some players have even gone as far as datamining files to reveal that mech suits will soon be added to the game as an item that can be called down from orbit, sparking excitement within the community.
